Despite a lack of familiarity in this country the Niepoorts have carved out a reputation for being probably Port's highest quality wine maker. The Winery has passed from Father to son in succesion since 1842, with each generation spending significant time working with the previous to ensure continuity and authenticity. The same familial links are also true of the master winemakers with Jose Nogueria the current incumbent with both his Father and son employed by the house.  More info
