Tasting Notes
Working with growers like Jocelyne Depardon is what makes this job so exciting. She has no reputation to speak of and yet she is clearly one of the areas rising stars. A great fan of the Calot brothers (see our Morgon grower) she makes opulent, fruit packed wines with that authentic rustic eagerness that typify Cru Beaujolais. Easy to drink, Jocelyne’s wines belie their complexity. Jocelyne, whilst not certified organic, is a definite purist, using tiny amounts of sulphur. Her 2005’s have about 17mg SO² per litre: incredibly low.
