Alain Gayrel manages to combine traditional techniques with some of the most bang up to date thinking in his South Western winery. His vines are well established having been in the ground for some thirty years, and this is reflected in the authentic style of all his wines. He is one of the most dedicated wine makers you are likely to find and has won the respect of all those around him with his passion, during the actual wine making he is often to be found sleeping by his vats !
