Pommard, Domaine Didier Montchovet

The vintage was hot and not the easiest for the côte de beaune, what you get is a big punchy Pommard with a dense colour and big meaty flavour (for Pinot) there is also some brooding animalistic character and earthy tones aswell.

Producer introduction
Christine and Didier Montchovet started growing their own vines in 1984 and from the beginning they cultivated their vineyards according to bio-dynamic principles.

Tasting Notes
The vintage was hot and not the easiest for the côte de beaune, what you get is a big punchy Pommard with a dense colour and big meaty flavour (for Pinot) there is also some brooding animalistic character and earthy tones aswell. This wine needed to be left alone for a while to mellow and knit together. 5 years on its really coming out of its shell and will reward its opener with its complex personality, especially when aired and matched with some delicious roast lamb!
