Hermanos Delgado (The brothers slim!!)
Half way between Valdepenas and Valencia is the city of Socuéllamos, just oustside of Socuéllamos are the vineyards of E.H.D This organic winery and vineyard was founded in 1998 by the Delgado Brothers and the grapes are Sohiscert and Ecocert certified. The vineyards stretch over 200 ha, 100 ha of white (Airen, Moscatel and Sauvignon) and 100 ha of red (Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Tempranillo and Merlot). The superbly equipped winery is conveniently located in the middle of the vineyards saving valuable time between picking and pressing and so reducing the reliance on sulphur so common round here
Winery
The Macatela wines are particularly authentic, clean and delicious. The dry Blanco and Rosado are aromatic, crisp and refreshing. The reds are made from Tempranillo and Garnacha. The Tinto is full of vibrant juicy red fruit whilst the oak aged “Barrica de Roble” is velvety, rich and sumptuous. These wines represent fantastic value for money and the winery is fitted with stainless steel tanks and all the latest wine making gadgets to ensure good hygene and clean, fruity wine.
