Producer introduction
Half way between Valdepenas and Valencia is the city of Socuéllamos, just oustside of Socuéllamos are the vineyards of E.H.D This organic winery and vineyard was founded in 1998 by the Delgado Brothers and the grapes are Sohiscert and Ecocert certified. The vineyards stretch over 200 ha, 100 ha of white (Airen, Moscatel and Sauvignon) and 100 ha of red (Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Tempranillo and Merlot). The superbly equipped winery is conveniently located in the middle of the vineyards saving valuable time between picking and pressing and so reducing the reliance on sulphur so common round here

Tasting Notes
There's normally not a lot to say at this price point. This little tempranillo though is worth a few words, its a straightfoward young wine, with plenty of character. The nose is softly fruited with obvious tempranillo varietal character, a bit herbaceous and almost stalky. The palate is smooth and balanced with a little fruit and mild tannins. This is ideal red for everyday quaffing, imagine being stood over the hob, the old keith floyd scenario "one for me, one for the casserole", you're already there!
